The first step in making a dragonfly is to make all four of his wings. I start by making a disk.

Attach a punty.

And using heat control, pull the wing into a shape like this. Try to make all four the same size and set them asside to be used later.

Next is the body. Once again we start with a ball on the end of a rod.

Place a small blob on the end of the body and let it ball back.

I'm not quit sure how many segments a real dragonfly has but I gave him five. You will notice that I have tried to make each one smaller until you get to the end.

Place a punty on the end of his tail and pull the rod off the body leaving enough glass to make his head. Let it ball back and using the same technique, put his eyes and nose on.

I went back after the eyes and heated up his tail and let it bend slightly.

Next I put the first segment of each leg on. Pull each one towards the top of the dragonfly like the first parts of a spiders leg.

something like this when your finished.

Next, attach the wings that you have put back.

Remember to leave enough room for two on each side.

I like to have the wings angled up slightly.

Finish off by putting the rest of his legs on. The hard part is to get them to all touch the ground. But with a little patience it can be done.

Here I used boro to come with some unique eyes.

The finished product.

Have fun.
